Flower Preservation Keepsakes
If you think back to many of the special events and occasions in your life, it is highly likely that some sort of flowers or flower arrangements were there. Flowers serve as symbols of beauty and are traditionally used to mark special occasions, celebrate a marriage, mourn at a funeral, or show someone you care. Because flowers are so delicate and beautiful, their very nature makes them the perfect way to commemorate any event in your life. You need to keep in mind, however, that the flowers you cherish on your special days will no last very long unless you get them preserved. This is the reason why flower preservation keepsakes are a popular way to capture the memories associated with an event when the flowers were given or displayed.
Flower preservation keepsakes can be made using a simple process that requires little or no special materials. The easiest method of preserving flower keepsakes is to air dry them. This can be accomplished by tying the flowers in a bunch with a string or rubber band and then hanging them upside down until all the moisture is gone. This process can take three to four weeks, depending on the type of flowers you are preserving. Just feel the flowers occasionally, and when they feel completely dry to the touch, the drying process is complete. Air dried flowers will last up to a year or more.
Want your flowers to last much longer? You may want to consider getting them freeze dried. This will ensure that your flowers—along with your special memories—will last for years to come!
